Virtual tour of the home

Welcome to the RNNH, residential care home

The RNNH is a residential care home in Bournemouth, Dorset, offering high-quality care for people with dementia, so we can help them to live fulfilled lives.

Friends and family members are always welcome to visit – and can share in the joy of a meal, sitting in the gardens or joining in with one of our activities, and the home is within easy travelling distance of the local communities of Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.

A perfect choice for dementia care

To best support the needs of the people in our care, our care team has a wealth of experience in various types of dementia and offers a range of practical support, including:

  • Activities designed to meet a range of individual preferences, including music, poetry, themed events, arts and crafts, cooking and reminiscence sessions. We also encourage participation in daily tasks such as helping to serve tea and coffee, washing up, folding laundry and gardening.
  • Sensory activities for people living with more advanced dementia, including nail care, hand care and gentle massage, all within a warm and cosy environment with gentle music.
  • Grazing plates, for people living with dementia who do not wish to sit down and eat an entire meal. We place these in various locations, with a range of snacks available, encouraging people to eat as they move around the care environment. Water and juice jugs are also available, helping to maintain nutrition and hydration levels while encouraging independence.

Paying for dementia care

There are funding options available for various types of Dementia care depending on the type of care required and the potential resident’s circumstances. Your local council may be able to help with the costs associated with Dementia care. Please contact your council before applying with us to see if you qualify for any funding.

Please contact us at enquries@fote.org.uk if you have any further questions about our dementia care services.
