Grants For Older People

Friends of the Elderly provides grants to older people living on low incomes.

We remain unable to accept new applications until 1st July

Thank you for your interest in applying for a grant from Friends of the Elderly.
We are continuing to make more grants then ever to those vulnerable older people who are most in need.

We are prioritising requests for essential items and have modified our processes to ensure we can still make grants even though
referral agents may not be able to meet their clients face to face due to the current Covid 19 pandemic lockdown measures.

Due to the large number of grants received prior to 17th April we are unable to accept new applications until 1st July.
We realise this is disappointing for those of you hoping to apply in June.
Our funds are limited and we currently have more applications waiting than normal.

Please check our website in late June for new application forms and guidance notes.

The grant has made such a difference – it means I don’t have to choose between keeping warm and eating.

Mary, 78, client

Referral required for application.

Applications must be made through a referring agent.
This can be someone working in local health or social care teams, the Citizens Advice, or other charities and community groups.

You can call us on 0330 332 1110 if you aren’t sure if you are eligible.

Please check back here in late June 2020 to find out how to apply for one of our grants.
