Board of trustees
Our trustees are unpaid volunteers who are ultimately responsible for the governance, leadership and financial viability of the charity. They set the strategic direction to enable us to work towards achieving our vision.
The above are all trustees of Friends of the Elderly.
Members of the board of trustees are also members of at least one Board committee. The principal committees meet quarterly and are: Audit and Risk Committee; Resources and Investment Committee; and Strategic Delivery Committee. The Chair’s Committee, Nominations Committee, and Remuneration and Employment Committee meet as required.
Her Majesty The Queen
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was Patron of Friends of the Elderly for over 60 years, from 1953. All of us at Friends of the Elderly are tremendously grateful for The Queen’s long and devoted service and give thanks for her support and kindness in helping the Charity to support older people to live well in later life.
