The Lawn is a residential care home located close to the market town of Alton in Hampshire. It is one of nine care homes run by the not-for-profit charity Friends of the Elderly. Our focus is to give older people in our care the chance to live fulfilled lives, whether they stay with us for a longer residential stay, or a short-term respite break. Find out more about our Hampshire care home below and use the contact form or phone number to get in touch with the care team.
The Lawn has a great reputation for being the best care home in the area and I am delighted that my mum is there.
About The Lawn
Category: Residential care
The Lawn is a beautiful Georgian period home in the rural village of Holybourne, Hampshire. The building has been sympathetically modernised to meet the needs of all our residents.
All of our rooms are designed to be spacious, light and airy. The Lawn also has a large dining room and two comfortable and cosy sitting rooms.
From housekeeping to the care and management teams, all our staff are trained to the highest standard. We create a personalised care plan for each of our residents, ensuring that our enthusiastic, compassionate staff are able to meet everyone’s personal needs.
“Caring for others runs in my family. My Mum is a Nurse and my Dad is a Paramedic, so I was very fortunate to grow up in a very caring environment; it really spurred me on to follow a career in caring.
I have worked in the Care Sector for nine years, five of those with Friends of the Elderly, becoming the Care Home Manager at The Lawn in 2020. Each member of The Lawn Team is devoted to keeping each resident safe, happy, inspired and motivated, every day.
We support and work with our residents to be engaged and stimulated, by taking part in our wide and varied activities, having a chat and reminiscing over a cup of tea or taking a stroll around our gardens.
At The Lawn, we have a very open, caring, supportive and positive culture and a happy and loving environment. We really are a family. It is a home, not a care home and together our residents and team are one big happy family.”
Friends of the Elderly are committed to providing care you can count on
All our care homes use technology such as electronic care planning and acoustic listening to keep our residents safe.
We have a devoted property team who work to keep our homes safe and secure.
We run a Dementia Education Programme in partnership with Worcester University, to ensure our staff know how to best support our residents living with dementia.
We provide regular training around Infection Prevention Control, and we are Covid Wise.
We are proud that many of our staff have worked with us for over 20 years, allowing us to provide consistent care teams to best support our residents.
