About Retired Nurses National Home
Category: Residential care, Dementia care
The Retired Nurses National Home (RNNH) welcomes everyone but retains a strong link to its heritage. Originally built for the benefit of the retired nursing community, we maintain our own archive of nursing history.
This stunning care home in Bournemouth is set amongst beautiful gardens, which most of the rooms overlook. Friends and family are always welcome to visit – and can share in the joy of a meal, sitting in the gardens or joining in with one of our activities, and the home is within easy travelling distance of Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.
We understand that everyone has different needs. That’s why our care assistants create a personalised care plan for each resident to ensure that those needs are met.
We are sorry that there are some areas at RNNH that require improvement. Friends of the Elderly’s Senior Management Team have taken the findings of this inspection very seriously and are working closely with the team at RNNH and with CQC to address all areas highlighted. We were pleased to see that the QCQ report did identify many areas of good practice at RNNH.
Friends of the Elderly is committed to delivering the best possible care, the other homes in our portfolio are rated by CQC as Good or Outstanding and we are committed to working through all actions necessary to bring RNNH to the same standard.
