Chris Maidment – Chair

Chris Maidment joined the Friends of the Elderly Board of Trustees in July 2017.

He was appointed Chair of the Board of Trustees in September 2021. He also sits on the Chair’s Committee, the Nominations Committee and Remuneration and Employment Committee. He helped carry out a review of FotE’s financial management and governance in 2014, which resulted in the creation of the charity’s Audit and Risk Committee, of which Chris was chair until September this year.

Chris is a Chartered Accountant and spent almost 25 years as an Assurance Partner at PwC. His clients ranged from FTSE 100 to small, owner managed businesses, covering most industries, with particular focus on real estate, retail, and professional services. For nine years he was responsible for the charity sector clients in the PwC Gatwick office.

Chris’s other roles away from Friends of the Elderly include being a member of the German British Chamber of Commerce and Coast to Capital LEP Audit Committees, and a Board adviser and director coach and mentor for a small number of private businesses. He is also Honorary Secretary of the Barbarians RFC.
