Redcot care home opens its doors for fun-filled Open Day

Open Day at Redcot - Jan Daly the Care Home Manager toasting at the care home's pubOn Saturday 29 June, to celebrate and support this year’s Care Home Open Week, Redcot, our Haslemere-based residential care home, will be opening its doors to host a summer Open Day and BBQ. The Open Day will give visitors, prospective residents, respite guests and their families the opportunity to see and experience, first-hand, the wide range of activities and great facilities on offer at the care home.

Talking about the Open Day, Jan Daly, the Registered Manager at Redcot said: “Between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday 29th June, we will be hosting a great interactive and fun open day. The Open Day will be the perfect opportunity for visitors to experience life at Redcot and see the care team in action as they deliver individualised bespoke, person-centred care to each resident and respite guest.”

The Open Day will include tours of the care home and is great facilities, including its very own pub – The Redcot Arms. Visitors will also be able to enjoy a delicious and tasty BBQ especially prepared by the care home’s experienced Chef and catering team.

However, that’s not all. Throughout the Open Day there will be various activities taking place led by Redcot’s Activities Coordinators and Dementia Champions, including different inclusive games, exercise classes and sing-alongs. “In addition, we have entertainment from one of Redcot’s regular entertainers, ‘David the Accordion Player’, and a special performance by The Redcot Choir,” added Jan.

Staff on the care home's steps giving thumbs up. “Championing and celebrating Care Home Open Week 2024 by hosting our own Open Day and summer BBQ gives us a unique opportunity and platform to be able to demonstrate how the care team is devoted to supporting those they care for to a wider audience,” continued Jan.

“Our Open Day tours will take in all of the care home’s many areas and visitors will see how spacious, elegant and airy our rooms are. Visitors will also see how our cheerful communal areas are ideal for entertaining family and friends and how everywhere is full of light, even our lovely lounge which is a great place to relax or socialise.

“Each member of our compassionate and kind care team – who will be on hand to answer any questions – is devoted to delivering high quality care to each of our residents and respite guests – their wellbeing, care and safety is at the heart of all we do.

“In fact, a resident’s family member recently left us a review saying how lovely the home and beautiful grounds are. The review also said that we have such a caring staff who always go the extra mile, so we hope that on 29th June our visitors can see just what a great place and a great team we are at Redcot.” Jan concluded.
