Across our care homes and services, residents had a wonderful time enjoying a mixture of fun activities and celebrations last month. Here are our 2023 October highlights:
Honouring International Day of Older Persons at Friends of the Elderly
Each year on 1st October, we mark and honour the United Nations International Day of Older Persons (IDOP). In line with this year’s IDOP theme, our care home residents and day care clients have been celebrating aging and passing on their words of wisdom to the younger generation.
Our Charitable Services Update 2022-23
“During 2022-2023 the number of older people applying for our grants increased by 10%. In some cases we were, quite literally, their last hope.”
Mark Wilson, Chief Operating Officer, Friends of the Elderly

Leonard loves rocking all over the world
At Kidderminster Day Care, client Leonard and his daughter Wendy, have been reminiscing about his love of rock music, his National Service, working in the Kidderminster Carpet Industry and career as a Farmer.
Peace Rose planted for International Peace Day 2023
In honour of this year’s United Nations International Day of Peace, Little Bramingham Farm care home hosted The Luton North Inner Wheel Club for a special memorial celebration.
The Club’s members spent the morning with the residents and kindly planted a beautiful Peace Rose in our care home’s attractive front garden area.
Stories from our Dementia Champions
In support of this year’s World Alzheimer’s Month and World Alzheimer’s Day, our Dementia Champions shared their experiences of supporting those living with dementia and talked about our Dementia Training Programme.
