Across our care homes and services, residents had a wonderful time enjoying a mixture of fun activities and celebrations last month. Here are our June highlights:
Celebrating The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee at our care homes and services
For many across the world, Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee was a truly monumental occasion of celebration. At Friends of the Elderly, we have been fortunate to receive Her Majesty’s support for 69 years, as Patron of our charity. We were delighted to join the celebrations as our care homes and services marked the special event, including tree planting ceremonies and parties.
A delight-mule visit at our Bournemouth care home
Residents at RNNH care home were delighted to welcome two very special visitors recently.
Arnie and Annie from West Hill Donkeys visited the home, giving the residents lots of cuddles whilst they all enjoyed the sunshine.
A magical day trip to Wisley Gardens
Residents at Bernard Sunley care home were excited to take advantage of the warm weather with a special day trip to RHS Wisley Gardens.
Whilst soaking up the sunshine, they thoroughly enjoyed seeing the beautiful grounds and plants.
Staff help talented artist showcase her work
Eileen is a resident at RNNH care home who loves to paint. When staff noticed her beautiful artwork, they decided to help set up a display in the home’s reception area to showcase Eileen’s creativity.
Now the reception area is a much more colourful area for everyone visiting the home.
