August 2021 highlights from our care homes

August was a busy month for residents across our care homes, including High Tea events, new technology supporting residents living with dementia and more! Here are some of the highlights from August:

Redcot care home kittens Socks and Slippers

Two kittens bring sense of calm for Surrey residents living with dementia

At Redcot care home in Haslemere, Surrey, residents have welcomed two new furry additions to the family – Socks and Slippers, two adorable kittens. Not only have Socks and Slippers warmed the hearts of staff and residents alike, but the two new additions have also had an incredible and positive impact on residents at the home who are living with dementia.

Betty on her birthdayFestivities as Betty celebrates milestone 100th Birthday

At The Lawn, our Alton-based residential care home, resident Betty Marlow had a lovely day celebrating her landmark 100th birthday.

Alongside visits from Betty’s family, the dedicated team at our Alton care home pulled out all the stops to make sure Betty had a wonderful day.

Bradbury Court care home resident using the new interactive tableTechnology inspires residents living with dementia

Bradbury Court care home, which is one of our three Malvern care homes, focuses on caring for those living with dementia.

Residents at the home have been benefiting from new, interactive technology thanks to the amazing fundraising efforts of the Care Home Manager, Elaine Banks.

During #NationalAllotmentWeek, green fingered residents showed off their impressive harvest at RNNH care home.

The home has its own residents Gardening Club, whose members have grown potatoes, beetroot, cabbages, strawberries, herbs, rhubarb, apples and tomatoes for everyone to enjoy.

Our Day Care Woking service, which supports older people living with dementia, had a delightful High Tea event, which was requested by service users during one of their regular ‘Have Your Say’ activities. It looks delicious!
