June highlights from our care homes

From Father’s Day celebrations to a landmark 95th birthday, residents across our care homes and services have been busy over the last month. Find out what they got up to in June:

At Friends of the Elderly, we are proud to have many family members who are part of our caring and management teams. Mother and daughter – Ann Essam and Cheryl Rothschild – have, between them, worked for Friends of the Elderly for a whopping 37 years!

Last year and prior to the third Covid-19 lockdown, we built a range of Covid-Wise visiting areas at our care homes.

At Bradbury Court care home in Malvern, Margaret McDonald was the first resident able to enjoy a very special visit from her son after months of FaceTime calls.

Following the UK Government’s easing of the COVID-19 lockdown guidelines and protocols, our Woking Day Care Centre in Surrey reopened and is accepting new admissions.

The team, who are trained to support older people living with dementia or with memory impairment, have ensured stringent infection control procedures are in place to enable them to welcome back their clients.

Congratulations Davenham care home! Our Malvern home won third place in June at the annual Malvern Well Dressing competition.

This year’s theme was ‘Planets and Stars’. Residents and staff came together to create a beautiful display on their well, helping them to secure third place.

Eileen, who is a resident at RNNH care home in Bournemouth recently celebrated her 95th Birthday in June. Staff were on hand to make sure she had a cracking time on her special day.
