Family and friends are our greatest gift in life. At Friends of the Elderly, we know just how vital those relationships are to our wellbeing – every day, we support older people who are struggling to cope with the devastating loss of loved ones, and the loneliness that follows.
After your loved ones have been remembered, a gift in your will to Friends of the Elderly will help fund incredible work to give vulnerable, frail, sick or lonely older people the companionship, support, and physical care they will need in years to come.
Changes to your will
If you are thinking about making minor changes to your existing will, this can be done easily by using a codicil.
If you already have a will, making a change to it (to include a charitable gift for example) isn’t as complicated as you might think – it’s not always necessary to re-write your entire will. A codicil is a document that makes a change or addition to your existing will. It must follow the same legal formalities as your original will. A codicil must be attached to the original copy of your will.
We always advise you to seek professional advice when changing your Will.
