I have been with Friends of the Elderly for 12 years and took on the challenge of managing New Copford Place 18 months ago. I decided I wanted to work with older people at an early age and was a senior carer in a nursing home for eight years where I gained a lot of valuable experience.

Working for a charity is fantastic as we have some many services which support older people. Our aim is to meet the changing needs of older people by offering person centred care and support.

Working with older people is inspirational as they have such incredible stories about their work and family lives. I get satisfaction from knowing that I am making a difference to them and by making sure they receive the best residential care.

Our home is special because we offer a high standard of care which focusses on the individual. My dedicated team are committed to making every resident feel comfortable and at home.

In my spare time I enjoy cooking and gardening and hope that when I’m 80 I will still be enjoying good health.
