Care Homes: Sir Thomas Lipton

Sir Thomas Lipton Memorial Home - residential

A beautiful home in a spectacular setting.

Thos Lip HouseSituated in Southgate, north London, the Sir Thomas Lipton Memorial Home stands in glorious, five acre grounds. This beautiful mansion offers a very warm welcome with single-room accommodation for 24 residents. The Home was bequeathed by the late Sir Thomas Lipton, who left his money in trust to provide care for ladies, fifty percent of whom should be retired nurses.

The house retains many original features but has been updated to meet the specific needs of a residential care home. We encourage prospective residents, and their family and friends, to visit before an application is made. This offers an opportunity to view the Home and meet the staff and other residents.

Feel at home
Each room has its own wash basin and lovely views over the grounds. Rooms are fully furnished with bed linen and towels provided. Residents are encouraged to personalise their room with photographs, ornaments and small items of furniture.  A number of communal rooms are available throughout the home, other spaces offer peace and quiet. So whether it’s joining in activities, socialising or reading, there’s a wealth of choice. A separate small sitting room can be booked in advance, for example to hold a private family get-together.

Warm, friendly atmosphere
Sir Thomas Lipton Memorial Home provides a warm, friendly atmosphere and a truly caring environment. Family and friends are always welcome and can stay for lunch or dinner or overnight for a small charge. Our residents are treated with dignity and friendly courtesy and we never forget that this is their home.

Individual Care Plans
Whenever a new resident joins us, we prepare an individual care plan with them and their relatives. Designed to encourage independence and personal involvement, the plan covers personal care, diet, activities, hobbies and all aspects of making the resident’s stay enjoyable and comfortable.

Fresh food choices
All food is freshly prepared every day by our cooks. Residents can choose from a varied menu for the main lunchtime meal, plus a hot supper in the evening. Light snacks are always available and the homemade cakes are justly popular! All meals are served in the Dining Room or in residents’ rooms, on request. We have a pantry located on the first floor so residents and visitors can make their own refreshments.
