Redcot, Surrey - Residential care home
Redcot is an impressive early 20th century home that has been modernised and extended to meet the needs of older people without losing any of its welcoming atmospheric charm. Given to the charity by the Miss Days in the 1950s, the house stands in a magnificent garden of splendid trees with a beautiful array of mature rhododendrons and azaleas. With uninterrupted views from the terrace all the way to the South Downs, it is surrounded by bluebell woods and heathland, much of which is owned by The National Trust. Located about a mile from the town of Haslemere, Surrey, it is registered to provide residential care for 32 residents.
Feel at home
Our attractive bed-sitting rooms are fully furnished and have en-suite bathrooms. Every room is fitted with a television point and telephone socket, giving additional privacy and choice.
Fresh food choices
All food is freshly prepared by our cooks, and residents can choose from our varied menus for their main meal at lunchtime, plus a hot supper in the evening. All meals are served in the pleasant dining room or, if the resident prefers, in their own room.
Activities and interests
Redcot has a beautiful drawing room complete with grand piano for regular musical entertainments and a smaller lounge for quieter moments. The home features a beauty room where local hairdressers, manicurists and chiropodists visit regularly. Our Activities Organiser encourages residents to become involved in the many social activities on offer; film club, exercise classes, competitions, quizzes and crafts. Happy Hour on a Friday is particularly popular. The local support group organises outings to places of nearby interest. Weekly services are held in Redcot’s own chapel, conducted by local clergy, to which all residents are warmly invited.
Excellent staff care
Our professional staff all attend regular training to ensure that they provide an excellent standard of care. Staff assist with bathing, dressing and all the activities of daily life, as required. A call system operates in all rooms and communal areas, giving residents peace of mind that they can summon help at any time, day or night. Routine medical services are provided by a local GP, who also provides emergency cover.
