Moor House care home in Staines hosted a summer fete for residents, their family and friends and the local community on Sunday 6 August.
The weather was on our side with the fete able to take place in the grounds of the care home throughout the afternoon – the event was a great success. There were plenty of activities on offer including hoopla, a raffle and tombola, as well as live music from River City Saxes. There was also a plant sale for those with green fingers and refreshments including a Pimms bar and BBQ.
Proceeds from the event are being put towards a new minibus for the care home, which will be used to take residents and people from the wider Staines community on day trips to enjoy activities outside of the home.
Moor House resident, Barbara says: ‘It would be lovely to be able to go on outings at short notice. We could make the most of sunny days with trips to the park, down by the river or a drink in the garden of a local pub.’
Lyn Spivack, Manager of Moor House, added: “It’s always wonderful to open our doors for a fun family day and to raise some much needed funds towards our mini bus appeal.”
