Celebrating our volunteers, this Volunteers’ Week and all year round
Wednesday marked the end of Volunteers’ Week 2017, when organisations around the country gave special thanks to all the people who give their time to support charities. We’ve been celebrating some of our own volunteers our Facebook page, pay it a visit and read the stories of Anne, Vicki, Stephen, Hente and Pauline.
Sally McLachlan, Community Engagement Manager, said: ‘Volunteers’ Week is an excellent opportunity for organisations to come together and collectively thank all the wonderful people who give up their time to support others. Here at Friends of the Elderly, our volunteers are integral to delivering our free to access services and complementing the care services we offer, which can be a lifeline to older people who have become lonely or isolated.
Anne, Vicki, Stephen, Hente and Pauline are just a handful of over 50 amazing volunteers who support our work – I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of them. This may be one week dedicated to celebrating volunteers, but we know how important it is to thank our supporters all year round and make sure they feel part of our dedicated staff team.’
