Friends of the Elderly celebrates Christmas with HRH Princess Alexandra
Friends of the Elderly enjoyed Royal company at their annual Christmas Carol Service in early December. HRH Princess Alexandra, the charity's President, joined an invited congregation at St Michael's in Chester Square, central London, for carols followed by mince pies.

Older People's Day 2009
Friends of the Elderly is joining in with this unique day by staging lots of fun events on-site at many of our services.

Friends with Dementia: funding win for peer support in Surrey
Friends of the Elderly, together with Surrey County Council and Surrey Primary Care Trust, has been awarded one of only 18 National Demonstrator Site projects to pilot much needed Peer Support networks for people with dementia and their carers.

Friends of the Elderly Contribute to 'Good Decision Making'
Two of Friends of the Elderly’s Care Staff at its Bernard Sunley Care Home, Woking, Surrey, Sithokozile Hiokana, and Sarah Parker, played a part in the publication of “Good Decision Making – the Mental Capacity Act and End of Life Care”.

National Dementia Strategy
Friends of the Elderly welcomes the launch of the government’s National Dementia Strategy. The strategy includes 17 objectives which aim to ensure improved awareness, earlier diagnosis, intervention and a higher quality of care.
