Moor House, Staines - Residential care home
An elegant, comfortable home in a historic borough
Moor House offers a warm and welcoming home with a high standard of accommodation for 24 residents. A conservatory looks out over a beautiful courtyard garden which residents can enjoy.
Moor House is a purpose built residential home on the outskirts of the ancient market town of Staines, in Middlesex. Just six miles from Windsor and 18 miles from London, it enjoys excellent rail and bus links, with easy access to the shops and amenities in Staines itself.

Feel at home
There are 24 spacious and well furnished bed sitting rooms available, all with ensuite facilities, three of which have easy access shower facilities. Every room is provided with a TV point and telephone socket, and residents are encouraged to personalise their rooms with small items of furniture, pictures and photographs to make them feel at home. Communal rooms include three pleasant lounges and a light and airy dining room, and a library for quieter times.
Fresh food choices
All food is freshly prepared by our cooks, and residents can choose from our varied menus for their main meal at lunchtime, plus a hot supper in the evening. Light snacks are always available and the homemade cakes are justly popular. All meals are served in the pleasant dining room, or if the resident prefers, in their own room. There is a small pantry where residents or guests can make refreshments if they wish.
Individual care plans
Whenever a new resident joins us, we prepare an individual care plan with them and their relatives, to encourage independence and inclusion. The plan covers personal care, diet, activities and hobbies, and all aspects of how we can make their stay enjoyable and comfortable.
Excellent staff care
Our professional staff all attend regular training to ensure that they provide an excellent standard of care. Staff assist with bathing, dressing and all the activities of daily life, as required. A call system operates in all rooms and communal areas, giving residents peace of mind that they can summon help at any time, day or night. Routine medical services are provided by a local GP, who also provides emergency cover.
Activities and interests
Moor House has its own minibus and regular trips are arranged to local shops and places of interest. An Activities Organiser encourages residents to become involved in the many social activities on offer, which include quizzes, exercise sessions and arts and crafts. There is a hairdressing room and a local hairdresser visits once a week. A Church of England service is conducted every Friday morning, to which all residents are warmly invited.
Warm, friendly atmosphere
Friends of the Elderly’s homes provide a warm, friendly atmosphere and a truly caring environment. Family and friends are always welcome, and can stay for lunch or dinner, or overnight in our guest accommodation. There is a happy community spirit enhanced by regular get-togethers for pre-lunch drinks and other events. In the warmer weather, the garden is well used and popular with residents. Our residents are treated with dignity and friendly courtesy, and we never forget that this is their home.
